Jean Shoiry, BEng, MEnvSc, CEO
Mr. Shoiry has been working in the clean technology and green economy industry since 1985. In particular, he headed the strategic development of GSI Environnement Inc., a company with sales (including subsidiaries) of $50M and a workforce of 200. In 2008, Jean cofounded Recyclage Écosolutions (which became PureSphera in 2016). He heads the company and oversees strategic planning, finance, partnerships and government representation.
Mathieu Filion, eng., General Manager
Mr. Filion is a Chemical Engineer from the University of Sherbrooke, and also obtained a Certificate in Industrial Production from Montreal’s ÉTS. He joined the RES team in 2013 following a 15-year experience in the sectors of plastics and rubber recycling and contaminated soil decommissioning. He specialized in environments involving industrial chemical processes.
Arnold Ross, Technical Manager
Mr. Ross joined RES in 2009, following a 22-year career protecting the environment at GSI Environment, Inc. A specialist in pollution prevention and treatment, with a solid experience in the fields of residual materials management, contaminated soils management, and health and safety, Arnold has shared his know-how with the Company, industries, and communities. His extensive knowledge and experience led him to occupy top management positions in operations, technical, scientific, research and development, new technology implementation, and environmental conformity. Arnold holds a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry form University of Québec in Chicoutimi and a Master’s degree in Environment from the University of Sherbrooke. He is a Member of l’Ordre des Chimistes du Québec and an expert certified by Quebec’s Ministry of the Environment.
Pier-Luc Goulet, MSc, CPA, CGA, Controller
A member of CPA Canada and holder of a Master’s degree in Finance, Pier-Luc has been working in accounting and finance for more than seven years. In particular, he has been a financial analyst with a private venture capital and consulting firm, and has extensive experience in financial statements, budgets and corporate finance. At PureSphera, he is in charge of accounting.
Claudia Beauregard, Executive Assistant, marketing specialist
A marketing consultant for 20 years, Claudia has launched and is promoting sustainable development initiatives for municipalities. She has managed the environmental certification process in some fifteen plants, drawn up international development strategies, set up a sorting centre and an eco-industrial park, and marketed new solar energy products. Claudia is responsible for PureSphera’s performance management, development and communications.
Olivié Ashford-Parent, Manager – Maintenance and Recycling process
Olivié Ashford-Parent graduated in mechanical engineering from Sherbrooke University. After two internships at PureSphera, he joined the team at the end of his studies. He manages the recycling processes and operations at our Bécancour plant. Olivié is ingenious in optimizing equipment, setting up new processes and mobilizing the team to reduce the environmental impact of the plant. He coordinates research and development projects that promote the circular economy through the reuse of refrigerators, parts and the recovery of raw materials. He also supervises the steps of CFC recovery for better management of GHG and ODS for their destruction.
